Lofoten islands, Norway

Lofoten is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland in Norway. It is located to the north of the Arctic Circle. The nature in Lofoten is very dramatic, there are many mountains there.
Dried fish is a typical Norwegian product. The cod fishing period in Lafaten is in January. The fish is prepared immediately after capture. Due to the stable climatic conditions, the dried fish produced in Lofoten is regarded as the best in the country.
